SPR's: Nextbit has announced its first smartphone – Nextbit Robin. This reasonably priced phone is powered by Android and has finally made its Kickstarter debut with a promise of unlimited storage and zero bloatware on-board.
f we start listing out the limitations of a modern-day smartphone, we’ll end up listing every alternate feature coming to our mind. However, some features like battery and storage are the most talked about as that need some serious improvement. Many high-end phones are now ending the option to add an expandable microSD card and making your lives tougher. In the search of an ideal storage solution, the veterans from Google, HTC and Apple have teamed up to form a startup named Nextbit.
With Robin, Nextbit has created a phone that brings the power of the cloud in the form of an integrated cloud OS. This ideology aims to provide a phone with a storage that never ends by realizing that cloud is one of the biggest things happening in computing.
Actually, Nexbit Robin doesn’t come with infinite storage. The company is providing each buyer 100GB of cloud storage for free. The storage adapts to your storage needs and automatically optimizes the space on your device when in need. Robin learns your usage pattern and offloads the stuff you don’t use to the cloud. Thus, you have everything you want without worrying about the storage.
Each time you connect to the Wi-Fi and power, Robin runs this process and backs up your photos and apps. When you start running out of space, Nexbit Robin intelligently starts removing the already saved apps and photos to make up the space for new data. Just in case you need the cloud data back, tap on it and get the full version instantly.
The founders call Nextbit Robin the future of Android by keeping things simple and intuitive. They are promising to ship the phone with Android Marshmallow, unless it’s not released at the time of shipping.
Nextbit gets its stunning looks from the ex-design head of HTC. It looks stunning by reducing clutter and making the aesthetics more symmetrical. This device comes in two color schemes- Mint and Midnight.
